Specialist Nurse in Surgical Care

Our operational area PVI – Perioperative Care and Intensive Care, is an important part of Södersjukhuset and has collaborative areas with all departments.

Our guiding principles are patient safety, professionalism, ethics, quality, outcome monitoring, and development. We achieve this through good clinical practice and lifelong learning, development work in interdisciplinary teams, education, and research.

Within the surgical section, there are five modules with specialties in urology, breast surgery, hand surgery, orthopedics, surgery; ÖGI, NGI, and vascular as well as gynecology.

Do you have extensive professional experience in surgical care and possess competencies in several of our surgical specialties? Do you want a workday characterized by variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a real difference? We are now looking for you as a Specialist Nurse in surgical care who wants to help shape a competence pool where your knowledge truly makes a difference – every day.

You will have your base employment as a surgical nurse within the operational area PVI, Södersjukhuset, and be part of the competence pool under a two-year appointment. During the period of your appointment, a salary supplement will be provided. You will work daytime, 40 hours per week.

In your role, you are a flexible and important resource that can be moved daily between our various surgical modules – where the need is greatest for the day. You perform customary tasks within your profession, but with an extended responsibility to contribute to a safe and stable staffing during short-term absences.

Working in the competence pool means you will have the opportunity to apply your broad skills in practice while developing in your professional role. You will become a key person in our teams – flexible, solution-oriented, and with a holistic perspective on the operation.

Competence Requirements

• You are a licensed nurse with specialist training in surgical care.
• You master Swedish at least at C1 level, ensuring that you can communicate clearly and professionally in a healthcare environment.
• To succeed in the role, we see that you have at least four years of professional experience and documented competence in at least three surgical specialties.
