The Stora Projekt area within Trafikverket is responsible for procuring and executing Sweden's largest and most complex infrastructure projects. As one of the largest builders in the Nordic region, the area manages projects that have significant importance for societal development, from planning to completed construction. The focus is on delivering projects on time, within budget, and with the expected quality.

Among the ongoing large projects are the implementation of the national train traffic management system ERTMS and several extensive investment projects such as Förbifart Stockholm, Ostlänken, and Västlänken.

About the role

In the role of technical specialist in construction monitoring and traffic information systems, you will work as a resource consultant for Trafikverket's client organization, within the Investment area and the Technical and Environmental department. You will be part of the Ostlänken BEST function, collaborating with specialists in Track, Electrical, Signal, and Telecommunications as well as BEST coordinators.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

• Supporting Trafikverket's client organization with technical expertise in construction monitoring, traffic information, camera surveillance, vehicle detectors, and alarm and access control systems.
• Ensuring compliance with requirements and providing design consultants and contractors with the right conditions during the design and construction phases.
• Drafting parts of the request for proposal documents and following up on designed solutions and deliveries.
• Supporting project management in matters related to changes and additional work as well as procurement.
• Planning the implementation and integration of new facilities into Trafikverket's national system in collaboration with management and operations.
• Participating in issues related to tunnel safety and rescue services.
• Representing the BEST function in project meetings and coordinating work within Tele-IT as needed.

Mandatory requirements

The consultant must meet the following competency requirements, and all requirements must be documented in the CV:

1. Relevant education at the university or college level. A degree of at least 180 credits (120 points) in engineering (e.g., automation engineer, systems engineer, IT systems specialist in SCADA/ICS, DCS engineer), or other education and experience that Trafikverket deems equivalent.
2. At least 4 years of work experience in infrastructure projects within railways.
3. At least 5 years of experience in design, programming, implementation, requirement specification, or integration of construction monitoring systems.
4. Verified knowledge of AB04 and ABK09. If you have not completed both trainings yet, we expect you to finish them within six months from the start of the assignment.
5. Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
6. Good knowledge of English in both spoken and written form.

Assignment information

The assignment is set to start on 2026-02-01 and end on 2029-01-31.

Option: The client has the unilateral right to extend the contract with existing contractual terms for an additional 1+1 year.

Scope: The workload is estimated to be 80-100% of a full-time position.

The resource consultant will be stationed at the Ostlänken project office. The offices are located in Solna, Norrköping, Nyköping, or Linköping. Travel between the different locations occurs regularly. There will be some opportunity for remote work, which will be governed by the project's needs.
