Do you want to help shape the future of infrastructure with us at SYSTRA? With us, you will have the opportunity to develop in a family-like environment and work on exciting infrastructure assignments. As a Telecommunications Designer at SYSTRA, you will be part of SYSTRA's Rail organization with about 200 employees nationwide. In the East region, there are approximately 60 colleagues working on everything from smaller single-disciplinary to large, multidisciplinary railway projects. We have an engaged team that supports each other, shares experiences, and has fun along the way!

Here’s what some of our employees say:

  • "The family atmosphere and vibe within the company help create enjoyable assignments and pleasant workdays. We socialize and support each other, regardless of which group we belong to, and every day brings exciting experiences. I have loved it since day one!" - Martin S
  • "The camaraderie in the office combined with being a key person in projects makes working at SYSTRA enjoyable. Freedom with responsibility is key." - Michael O

As a Telecommunications Designer with us, you will be part of a group of colleagues specialized in Telecommunications, while also having close contact with colleagues across the entire BEST-K area. As a designer, you will follow existing guidelines, techniques, and methods. You will identify and solve defined problems, review, and actively contribute improvement suggestions. The work is independent, but you are always part of a project team. With the right experience and skills, you can also act as or develop into the role of technical manager in our assignments.

Examples of tasks and responsibilities:

  • Designing technical solutions for various telecommunications systems, such as transmission, radio systems, speaker and information systems, and security systems (e.g., fire alarms, evacuation alarms, access control systems, video surveillance, and fiber optics).
  • Producing drawings, technical descriptions, and as-built documents in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Participating in design meetings and actively collaborating with both colleagues and clients to ensure optimal solutions.
  • Contributing to requirements specification, follow-up, and technical quality assurance throughout the project.
  • Staying updated on laws, norms, and regulations within the telecommunications and security areas to ensure that designed solutions meet current requirements.

The role also involves site visits and inventories as well as coordination with other technical areas. Of course, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of internal work processes and continuous professional development.

About you

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in technology who stays updated in their technical field. You are responsible, analytical, and structured in your work approach, and you handle details meticulously. Your good collaboration skills allow you to easily find solutions together with others, while you also have the ability to independently plan and drive your work forward. Furthermore, you have a good ability to engage in technical discussions, clarify requirements, and share information. We also see that you have a flexible attitude and enjoy navigating through changing conditions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent vocational education with relevant focus or acquired knowledge in other ways
  • Several years of experience in design within BEST-K
  • Good experience working in both 2D and 3D environments (Microstation, OpenRail, and other CAD tools)
  • Knowledge of Swedish regulations and industry standards, e.g., AMA EL
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious

  • Experience in tunnel design
  • Experience collaborating with international colleagues remotely
