JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The school nurse's duties are a continuation of child health care. As a school nurse, you primarily work with preventive student health work through health conversations and health examinations according to the basic program.

As a school nurse, you are part of the school's student health team. In the student health team, which includes the school nurse, counselor, special educator, and principal, you work health-promoting and preventive to support students' development towards educational goals.

Your main responsibilities are therefore promoting and preventive health work at the individual, group, and organizational levels, with good opportunities to influence and develop the content of the work. The health-promoting and preventive tasks for students include health visits, health conversations, vaccinations, substance abuse prevention, healthcare interventions, and reception together with the school doctor.

You will receive an introduction to the work and a mentor who guides and supports you in your daily work. Professional development occurs jointly with other school nurses in the area and is led by the Medical Management Responsible Operations Manager. The position is 50-80%.

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed nurse with further training as a district nurse, pediatric nurse, or school nurse.

In your role, it is important that you have good collaboration skills, that you are responsible, and can prioritize your work based on the current situation. In addition to being confident in your professional role, you enjoy working with people. You find it easy to communicate, build relationships, and see development opportunities in everyone. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working as a school nurse or with children and adolescents. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
