During the day, there is a coordinator who manages and coordinates the daily operations in the department, we have a care planner who assists with planning for patients' discharge, as well as physiotherapists and occupational therapists who are responsible for the rehabilitation efforts for our patients.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a nursing assistant in lung ward 109L, you will have a varied and exciting job that provides you with broad competence. The work is diverse, with both acutely and chronically ill patients of all ages, and the pace varies as do the tasks. You will care for patients with pulmonary diseases such as asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, and lung cancer. The position includes standard tasks in an acute lung care ward.

As a nursing assistant with us, you will work with:

• basic nursing care
• dressing changes and various sample collections as delegated.

With us, you will receive:

• mentorship from experienced colleagues
• two weeks of introduction.

Your initial time with us will be a learning period focused on pulmonary medical care, including starting inhalations, learning nursing care, dressing changes, and various sample collections as delegated.

The position involves day and evening work throughout the week.

QUALIFICATIONS

You thrive in a varied workday and have the ability to quickly adapt to different situations. You should also have good collaboration skills and be responsible, as well as have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others.

In the role of nursing assistant, you should:

• be a trained nursing assistant.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have experience in sample collection and/or dressing changes.

Information about the title Nursing Assistant

As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in healthcare and social services. You can apply for the certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and social services, but with a different title than nursing assistant. In Region Gävleborg, this means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant until your certificate is submitted.
