We are looking for a consultant with expertise in ITS equipment for Trafikverket, stationed in Gothenburg.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The following equipment and facility types are included in the assignment:

• Traffic measurement stations
• Motorway control systems of type MTM-2
• Motorway control systems of type LASSY
• Variable speed VH
• Traffic information signs
• Variable message signs (LED and OKV)
• Adjustable road signs
• Closure devices
• Opening bridges
• Reversible lanes
• Control stations
• Measurement systems
• Active speed bumps

The object is complex with integration into several central systems that monitor and control the facility. The equipment is often placed in an aggressive road environment where efficiency is required, as it takes significant resources to access the object. A significant amount of infrastructure is stationed in Trafikverket's road tunnels where the equipment can only be accessed during planned operational shutdowns, requiring high coordination and good planning to effectively manage and lead contracts.

The assignment includes working within UH's operations regarding ITS equipment in collaboration with UH's project managers. The consultant shall provide expertise and resource support to projects and project managers within UH but may be requested by UH to provide support within Trafikverket's other projects in Infrasystem.

The assignment consists of the following:

• Resource consultant expertise support during reinvestment of ITS Lundbytunneln.
• Resource consultant expertise support during procurement and testing of new traffic information signs.
• Resource consultant construction manager within UH Infrasystem Traffic Equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• To be expertise support in connection with the development of tender documents.
• To be expertise support in connection with the replacement or reinvestment of ITS equipment.
• To participate in technical meetings with suppliers.
• To develop technical choices and system concepts for investment and reinvestment assignments.
• To be expertise support in connection with the execution of FAT and SAT tests in projects.
• Act as the client's representative during acceptance tests.
• Development of regulations and requirements.
• Development of procurement according to framework agreements for traffic equipment.
• Review of construction documents and technical support during the development of as-built documents.
• Assist construction managers and project managers and provide technical assistance during design within the area.
• Contact with contractors for completing missing information. Oral and written information should be transferred from various contractors to the documentation applicable to each technical area.
• Be able to provide support to suppliers and contractors on technical issues during the project period.

Requirements (IMPORTANT, mandatory)

a) Good ability to communicate with various stakeholders in Swedish and English.
b) B driver's license.
c) Work on road level 1 and 2 or knowledge requirements according to TDOK 2018:0371, step 1.1–1.3 (certification can be supplemented later, but no later than in connection with contract start. If the resource does not have certification, the bidder must confirm in their bid that this will be supplemented at no cost to the client).
d) Documented experience of independently producing Technical Descriptions for tender documents for technical systems regarding ITS equipment. At least two should relate to traffic information signs and two should relate to VDS (Variable Direction Signs).
e) Documented experience in designing variable traffic equipment, of which at least one must include a larger bridge and one must include a facility defined as complex in that it encompasses several installation technical systems. For example, cameras, ventilation, variable signs, and barriers that interact in a road tunnel.
f) At least five years of documented experience in the design of variable traffic equipment connected to PLC, SCADA, or Industrial PC systems.
g) Documented experience from at least two projects of installation of systems and functions for traffic control.
h) Documented experience from at least two projects of FAT tests with sign suppliers in Trafikverket's or another road authority's contracts/deliveries.
i) At least six years of documented experience in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
j) At least six years of documented experience in communication protocols frequently used in the area of monitoring systems at the roadside, e.g., RSMP, NTCIP, OPS, ModbusTCP.
k) At least six years of documented experience in technical regulatory frameworks regarding control and monitoring systems in road environments.

Meritorious

For the client, it is an added value that the resource has at least 6 years of experience with Trafikverket's Central system UMS and its connection to traffic information signs.
For the client, it is an added value that the resource has at least 6 years of experience with Trafikverket's Central system TUS2/TUS3 and its connection to traffic equipment.
