We are looking for a consultant to work as a multidisciplinary project manager within the Mälarbanan Program – one of the Swedish Transport Administration's largest infrastructure projects. The program includes the expansion of the railway between Tomteboda and Kalhäll from two to four tracks. The work includes new tunnels through Sundbyberg and Solna, three new stations, as well as extensive earthworks, construction, and installation work.
About the role
As a multidisciplinary project manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the design work across multiple technical areas and ensuring that the deliveries meet the Swedish Transport Administration's requirements for time, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
You will be part of the client's project organization in Sundbyberg and work closely with project managers, technical specialists, and external design consultants in the preparation of tender documents for upcoming contracts.
The consultant must meet the following competence requirements:
- Participate in the evaluation of bids and the initiation of design consultants.
- Lead, coordinate, and follow up the work of the design consultant.
- Contribute to effective working methods and routines between the client and the consultant.
- Ensure that deliveries maintain the right quality, time, and cost-effectiveness.
- Participate in the follow-up of contracts regarding requirements, added values, bonuses, and penalties.
- Lead and coordinate the design work within several technical areas (construction, geotechnics, road/land, installations, BEST, etc.).
- Represent the client within the technical area of construction works.
- Review and approve deliveries of documents and models.
- Ensure that the deliveries meet the requirements for digital project management (BIM).
- Participate in contract, economic, technical, and risk meetings.
- Participate in work with requirements management, work environment, time, calculations, and forecasts.
- Participate in information meetings and collaboration with authorities and external parties.
- Identify, analyze, and manage risks.
- Contribute to knowledge transfer to the Swedish Transport Administration's own employees.
Mandatory requirements
The consultant must meet the following competence requirements:
- University/college education equivalent to a Swedish Master's degree in engineering with relevant specialization or equivalent education and experience that can be assessed as equivalent by the Swedish Transport Administration.
- At least 5 years of experience in the role of project manager in large construction projects with many technical areas (execution > 1 billion SEK) in the last 8 years. As a project manager, the tasks must primarily have been to coordinate different technical areas and design resources so that the project has obtained the best technical and economic solution. (Project manager or assignment manager where these tasks have been part of the job are not equivalent to project manager).
- At least 3 years of experience as a project manager in at least 1 construction project regarding bridges or tunnels.
- At least 3 years of experience as a designer with the preparation of construction documents including technical descriptions.
- Documented experience of construction work environment coordination as BAS-P in at least 1 large design assignment and hold a training certificate as BAS-P. The training certificate must be no more than five years old from the last bid date. The requirement for the training certificate applies throughout the contract period. A large design assignment means assignments over 50 million SEK.
- Knowledge of relevant standard agreements such as AB, ABK, ABT.
- Documented good knowledge of AMA.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Assignment information
The contract is valid from the time the contract comes into effect until 2027-01-31.
Option: The client has the unilateral right to extend the contract with existing contract terms for an additional up to 7 years with an extension period of 1 or 2 years at a time.
The stationing location for the resource consultant is Sundbyberg. This assignment requires physical presence at the Swedish Transport Administration's office 5 days a week.
Scope: The estimated workload for the assignment is 80-100% of annual working hours, amounting to 1,700 hours.
