Main Responsibilities

As a communication technician at F 21, you will work together with other technicians to operate and maintain the airport's air traffic control systems, meteorological systems, radar systems, power supply systems, etc. We are responsible for the unit's communication platforms to ensure that command and communication within and between units can take place. These include both permanently installed systems at the air bases and in vehicles and containers for surface distribution.

This means you will receive broad technical training in areas such as data, telecommunication, and radar/radio systems. You will also receive training in flight safety to perform your work safely. Training is conducted both locally and at other locations through central schools or in collaboration with the industry.

In addition, we also participate in material and system development, as well as follow-up of technical documentation together with the defense industry.

The position may also involve participation in exercises and other activities, both locally and in field environments at other locations, throughout the year.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Swedish citizen
  • Approved high school education
  • Good computer skills
  • Driving license B (manual transmission)

Personal Attributes:

We are looking for someone who is technically interested and has the ability to absorb new knowledge, both theoretically and practically, is service-oriented and proactive. You should have good computer skills, be able to work flexibly and at different paces to manage varying tasks and workloads. You have the ability to work both independently, where you are responsible for solving your own tasks, as well as in a team. Since the position may involve tasks as an instructor and collaboration with various contacts within the Armed Forces, we also see that you have good communication skills.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious:

  • BE, CE driving license
  • High school education in a technical program or equivalent.
  • Completed military basic training.
  • Post-secondary education in Electrical/Telecommunication/IT
