Every year, Försäkringskassan makes 21 million decisions that affect people's lives and society as a whole. We disburse approximately 260 billion kronor each year. The ITAT unit belongs to our new operational area, which primarily focuses on coordinated, quality-assured, and efficient management of information, data, and AI within Försäkringskassan, but also actively contributes to these areas across the entire public sector. We ensure that we have products and services that enable a data-driven operation and create collaborations with external stakeholders and partners in the AI field.

Machine Learning, Python, Java, AI Engineering, LLM, Data Analysis

We are looking for several AI developers who want to contribute to societal benefit through artificial intelligence, machine learning, Python, language models, and data analysis. With us, you will work in a modern technical environment where development, collaboration, and responsibility are central parts of everyday life.

As an AI developer at Försäkringskassan, you will be part of a unit tasked with developing and applying artificial intelligence throughout the organization. You will be part of our ongoing effort to scale up AI work and strengthen how technology is used to create value in operations and for our citizens.

You will work on developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions within machine learning, natural language understanding, and data analysis. The work includes both model development and system integration in a technically advanced environment. We use modern tools such as Python, Java, PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, and LangGraph to build robust, reliable, and scalable solutions.

The environment is based on Kubernetes and OpenShift, where we work according to agile principles with a focus on innovation, quality, and sustainability. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in data, architecture, and business development to ensure that our AI solutions are responsible, transparent, and contribute to sustainable results.

We work with the entire spectrum of AI technologies, from language models and neural networks to image analysis and network analysis. For us, it is important to use the right technology at the right time, with a high awareness of security and ethics.

The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is important that you, who will work with us, have a strong security awareness.

We are looking for someone who

• has a relevant university degree in IT, computer engineering, systems science, or equivalent experience and qualifications
• has experience in programming in Python or Java
• has experience working with applications in artificial intelligence or machine learning
• acts on their own initiative and takes responsibility for achieving good results
• collaborates effectively with others to achieve common goals
• has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• has a systematic and meticulous working method
• can understand and analyze complex problems
• has good communication skills.

It is an advantage if you

• have experience working with implementing language models or NLP
• have experience in development using Git, Bitbucket, or GitHub
• have experience in DevOps and platform development in Kubernetes or OpenShift
• have a PhD or equivalent experience
• have experience in system administration and infrastructure in Linux environments
• have experience in GPU optimization, especially with frameworks like vLLM or Triton
• have experience in web development, e.g., Vue or other frontend frameworks
• have experience in interaction design.
