Geia Food is a leading player in private label, grocery trade, and brand development in the Nordics. There is a pride in working with a passionate and dedicated team that drives success in close collaboration with colleagues at the Karlstad office and also in close cooperation with other offices in the Geia group. Geia Food Sweden's headquarters is based in Karlstad, consisting of 20 employees.

In the role of Purchaser, you will drive and develop the purchasing work within selected categories, contributing to shaping the assortment, business development, and profitability in close collaboration with the sales team. As part of the role, you will have the opportunity to participate in a two-year PSM program (Product Sourcing Manager) – a well-thought-out training program that provides you with the right tools to succeed and grow. Through the program, you will receive continuous coaching and support to develop in the commercial work at Geia group, where you work closely with both customers and suppliers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for and develop selected categories within purchasing
  • Negotiate and establish annual agreements with suppliers in Europe
  • Participate in customer meetings and drive development together with the sales team
  • Work on assortment and concept development in collaboration with the Nordic category team
  • Ensure optimal flow of goods in collaboration with logistics

To succeed in the role, we see that you have strong analytical skills and good negotiation abilities. You thrive in a changing environment and have a proactive and structured approach to your work. As a person, you are social, curious, optimistic, and goal-oriented, contributing both energy and forward momentum to the team. In addition to personal qualities, we are looking for someone who:

  • Has good experience in sales and/or purchasing within FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods)
  • Has good knowledge of both Swedish and English, as both languages are used in daily work

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Relevant university education in international business, economics, purchasing, or similar

Additional Information

  • Location: Karlstad, if you are applying from another location, we would like you to describe in your application how you plan to commute to the workplace
  • Travel within the Nordics/Europe may occur
