About the Role

Do you want to help create the fossil-free energy system of the future while contributing to the safety of one of Sweden's most important production facilities? Forsmark Kraftgrupp is now looking for a radiation protection engineer who wants to combine technical expertise with societal benefit in a role that offers both variety and responsibility.

About the Job

The group is responsible for overseeing the production facilities regarding radiation protection, monitoring radiation doses, and preparing for work related to radiation protection. We also handle report writing, ADR transports, and support the waste group with radiological issues.

You will be part of a smaller team with mixed experience and expertise, where collaboration and knowledge sharing are key.

As a radiation protection engineer, you will support daily operations with radiological expertise. You will, among other things:

  • Draft and update instructions and procedures in the field of radiation protection
  • Conduct investigations and write reports
  • Work with ADR transports of radioactive materials or focus on a specific production area
  • Participate in meetings and collaborate with operations management, team leaders, and other stakeholders within Forsmark
  • Support the management in case of absence
  • Conduct training for new employees

Depending on your skills and interests, the role can be focused on two different areas. Either you work with ADR transports of radioactive materials, where you are responsible for developing and managing routines according to applicable regulations, including writing transport documents, updating instructions, and collaborating with internal and external parties. Alternatively, you work closely with the operations organization in a specific production area, where you contribute radiation protection expertise to daily operations by classifying work areas, participating in production meetings, and conducting analyses and investigations.

Regardless of the focus, the role offers great variety and the opportunity to influence your workday, with both operational elements and strategic work to develop the business in the long term.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

  • High school education in technology or natural sciences with work experience as a radiation protection technician or experience with ADR transports, for example, in chemicals, radioactive, or explosive substances
  • Good computer skills
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and basic English

Preferred:

  • University education in a scientific subject
  • Experience in conducting training
  • Knowledge of Forsmark facilities
  • Knowledge of the SAP software

As a person, you are analytical, solution-focused, and have the ability to plan your time effectively. You enjoy collaborating in teams and have an easy time communicating with different groups.
