Recycling, part of the Labor Market Department

The mission of the Labor Market Department is to contribute to sustainable community development through adapted employment for individuals on their way to self-sufficiency. In addition to Recycling, the Labor Market Department consists of two other units, the Labor Market Unit/Kitchen and the Greenhouse in Mörsil, as well as support functions.

The operation contributes to creating meaningful and developing employment where participants' work abilities can be observed, assessed, and developed while enabling the municipality and its citizens to reduce waste. The department is also involved in the Interreg project TRÅD in collaboration with the Technical Department to enable a more sustainable future for the management and prevention of textile waste.

Our leading colleague is moving on to new adventures, and we now need to replace them as soon as possible.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your tasks include leading and observing participants together with another leading colleague and planning weekly activities and tasks at the recycling center. You are responsible for ensuring that the work is done correctly while always considering the individual needs of the employees in your group. We always put our employees first, and it is important that you can plan the work based on the conditions that apply for the day. Some employees stay with us for a long time, while others only for a short period, which means we have a high turnover of staff. Introducing new employees at short notice is part of the job.

You are also responsible for creating and driving development within the operation based on the department's conditions. Together with our employees, we sort usable materials and products from deposited waste via Järpen's recycling center and manage the recycling store. Your tasks include continuous documentation, reporting, scheduling, and simpler personnel administration, so you need to have good computer skills and experience with Office programs and email systems.

The most important thing for succeeding in this job is that you have a genuinely positive view of people, a strong belief that everyone can succeed with the right conditions, and that you are someone who makes things happen.

You will also, together with the department's labor market coordinator, be the participants' support towards various authorities, primarily the Employment Service and social services, but also the social insurance agency, health center, psychiatry, and other partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have the desire to work on motivating, transitioning, and developing people towards health and work. You have the interest and ability to support people's development both through individual conversations and group activities. You see opportunities rather than difficulties and quickly find solutions to emerging problems. You have knowledge, experience, and interest in working with people with social, cognitive, and physical challenges.

Experience in circular management such as recycling or reuse, as well as experience and interest in craftsmanship, is meritorious.

The position requires a B driver's license.

  • are efficient, creative, and inspiring and contribute joy to your workgroup.
  • are good at finding the right adapted activities based on a good understanding of the various and varied needs of the participants.
  • are good at clearly communicating your knowledge and pedagogically motivating the participants to develop.

OTHER

The position is vacant provided that there is no surplus, need for reassignment, or priority in the municipality. A probationary period may be applied. More information about Åre Municipality can be found at www.are.se (https://www.are.se).
