The Recruitment Unit for Contractors is located at Ruddammsgatan 27. We have 19 family home secretaries, an administrator, and a unit manager working with us.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you a trained social worker who wants to work as an on-call family home secretary to make a difference for children and young people in a crucial moment? Are you someone who stands firm when the storm rages around you? Great! Help make Gävle safe together with us.

We are looking for someone who wants to work on creating safe and stable environments for children and young people in need of protection and care. We at the recruitment unit work to ensure that every child and youth grows up in a good and reliable environment. As an on-call family home secretary, you will be part of a special team and you are a key person who works quickly, safely, and professionally to place children and young people in emergency homes during critical situations. The team's mission is to ensure that children and young people who, for various reasons, cannot live at home receive the right support, safety, and care from day one. Your work involves being responsible for and following up on the intervention until a more long-term plan is possible. Documentation is an important part of your work, and you will document a lot. We use the operational system Treserva.

You will be responsible for the entire placement process, from receiving requests, matching, to follow-up and closure of the placement. The work is done in close collaboration with child secretaries, family home secretaries, social workers, emergency homes, and other important actors. As the on-call person, you will work with and lead a group of emergency homes, being a central support for them.

As a family home secretary with us, you will belong to the authority office, which has a close collaboration with Welfare Gävle's investigation units. You will be involved in developing our work for children and young people as well as our contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and at least one year of experience in child welfare investigations. Experience in documentation and the ability to express yourself well in speech, writing, and reading comprehension are required. Since the job involves travel, a B driver's license and driving experience are necessary.

It is advantageous if you have previously worked with recruiting and investigating family homes and if you are familiar with the IT system Treserva. Previous collaborations with other units within social services where you have had a supportive role for contractors, either individually or in groups, are also beneficial.

To succeed in the role of on-call family home secretary, you need to remain steady when the storm rages around you. You need to quickly find solutions to emerging problems, be confident in yourself, and make uncomfortable and tough decisions.

As a person, you need to be structured, good at prioritizing, effective, and use resources to achieve results in the best way possible. You are a relationship-building person who easily takes initiative in social contexts and creates trusting relationships. Collaborating with others is natural for you, and you have an unpretentious approach to your collaborations. Since documentation is important to us, you need to be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing, and you can skillfully adapt your language to different situations, purposes, and recipients.
