About the position

Lung diseases are common and cause significant suffering, premature death, and high societal costs. Therefore, it is essential to conduct clinical research on these diseases. At the Medical Unit for Lung and Allergy Diseases, we have a long tradition of conducting advanced studies on lung diseases. Our research unit is among the leading in the Nordic countries regarding bronchoscopy studies and we participate in international collaborations. Our studies primarily include clinical basic research on lung diseases such as sarcoidosis, COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis, and pulmonary fibrosis, as well as studies on COVID-19 and drug studies.

We need to strengthen our team of nurses with R&D assignments in the field of lung diseases. As a research nurse, you will be responsible, together with two colleagues, for the practical implementation of research studies in collaboration with responsible researchers and laboratory staff.

Your tasks include informing, assessing, and including research participants, who are usually patients but also healthy controls. You will coordinate and conduct examinations, such as blood tests and spirometry, as well as assist the responsible physician during bronchoscopy procedures. The work also involves administering data in databases, managing study documents, and participating in study meetings and conferences to review research results, both in Sweden and internationally. Additionally, you will act as a contact person and collaborate with study physicians during the implementation of drug studies.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• licensed nurse with at least 5 years of professional experience
• good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• previous clinical experience with endoscopies and research and development work
• knowledge of laws and regulations governing research studies
• knowledge of GCP
• experience with drug studies
