Treatment Assistant (Hourly Employee) at SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for youth and adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården has just undergone an organizational change, from LVM care to LVU care, and is now in an exciting phase of development. Currently, the institution consists of three departments but will expand to five departments with a total of 33 places over the coming year.
Job Description
Do you want to help create life-changing differences for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment assistant on an hourly basis at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth/clients to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and security of our youth/clients and are responsible for the foundation of daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. You also help maintain order and safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building safe relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth/clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job can often be demanding but is also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, a strong empathetic ability, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You should also have:
- At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
- Driver's license (B)
- Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written
Meritorious:
- Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., correctional officer
- Security guard training
- Education in health and care
- Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young girls, etc.)

*Exceptions to the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
The positions are hourly employment with working hours during the day, evening, weekend, and night by agreement.
