The Stroke Unit and Neurorehab belong to the Neuro Center at Sunderby Hospital. The ward has 13+1 beds for inpatient neurological care and rehabilitation and is located in accessible premises on the 4th floor. Adjacent to the ward is the stroke rehab team (SHR), the stroke reception, the baclofen reception, and the rehabilitation medicine reception.

We are looking for

We are looking for a licensed nurse who wants to work permanent night shifts and is interested in working with person-centered care and rehabilitation. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. As a person, we would like you to be engaged, able to work independently, and have a strong team spirit. You are a positive person who can handle and prioritize in acute and stressful situations. It is advantageous if you have completed stroke training. Experience in stroke or neuro care/rehabilitation and experience working in Cosmic is also meritorious for the position.


This is what you will work with

Ward 41 is staffed at night by 2 nurses and 2 nursing assistants. The goal of the Stroke Unit is to work with the entire care chain, from the acute onset of stroke until the patient is discharged, sometimes with the support of our SHR team. In the stroke unit, you will work together with the team based on clear routines grounded in the National Guidelines for Stroke from the National Board of Health and Welfare.

At Neurorehab, we have the highest rehabilitation level in Norrbotten, and here patients with spinal cord injuries and acquired brain injuries are cared for and rehabilitated. The rehabilitation provided is at a specialist level (accredited according to Carf) and patients come here from all over the county on referral.

In your role as a nurse with us, you will attend to the patients' medical and specific nursing needs and then plan and prioritize the measures to be implemented. We work with person-centered care where the patient is an obvious part of the team. As a nurse on the ward, you will work both with acute care and rehabilitation. In the patient-centered work, you will work closely with nursing assistants.

- You will be assigned a personal mentor and after a period of work, you will attend a Stroke Competence Training that generates 3 university credits
- On the ward, you will also receive a Rehab License, which means in-depth knowledge in rehabilitation methodology

Information about the position

We offer a permanent full-time position with night shifts. Start as soon as possible, according to agreement.
Selection and interviews are ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
