Capio Lundby Specialist Hospital provides planned specialist healthcare on behalf of the Västra Götaland Region. We offer care in dialysis/kidney medicine, surgery, internal medicine, psychiatry, ophthalmology, and ear-nose-throat. The hospital also has a surgical unit for day surgery.

Lundby Specialist Hospital is located at Wieselgrensplatsen, just under 10 minutes from Gothenburg Central by public transport. We are part of Capio and operate in a decentralized organization where decisions are made as close to the patient as possible.

About the role

As a surgeon with us, you will be an important part of the surgical unit – a close-knit, interdisciplinary team consisting of surgeons, nurses, nursing assistants, biomedical analysts, surgical coordinators, and medical secretaries. The unit currently consists of 16 employees, including 3 permanently employed surgeons – and now we want to grow!

With us, you will meet patients with general surgical conditions such as hernias, gallbladder issues, hemorrhoids, and varicose veins. You will work with assessments, examinations, and outpatient procedures at the clinic, as well as with larger surgeries in our day surgery unit. In addition to clinical work, you will be part of teams working on improvement initiatives and the development of the unit's workflows.

For a permanent position, we apply a 6-month probationary period.
