Fire Master Wanted for the Rescue Service in Eskilstuna

We are currently looking for an engaged and competent fire master for our rescue service organization!

The Rescue Service in Eskilstuna is part of the Community Building Administration in Eskilstuna Municipality. We have five fire stations with a total of 150 employees, of which about half work full-time at the main fire station in Eskilstuna.

Since 2022, we have been collaborating with four other rescue service organizations in a joint rescue management system, Rescue Region East. Together, we are part of a broader collaboration that includes everything from joint training to shared resources within the Eastern Svealand Rescue Region.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a fire master, you will work to develop and streamline Eskilstuna's rescue service. The main tasks involve preparing and organizing the team to handle incidents and accidents in the community. All fire masters have at least one area of expertise and are responsible for training and development within their specialty.

You will individually or in a group drive the work forward by having functional responsibility within an operational part. An important aspect of this responsibility is to continuously develop and follow up on the work we carry out, as well as to monitor the external environment. Daily tasks also include training internal staff and external actors or citizens, as the organization’s primary goal is to prevent incidents or accidents from occurring.

You are responsible for ensuring that accurate information is disseminated, and a prerequisite for success is your ability to create good communication channels both within and outside the organization. Everyone in our organization shares the responsibility to ensure that our communication works in the best possible way.

In the future, the job responsibilities may expand to include conducting inspections. Either you have already completed the Inspection A training or equivalent training, or you have an interest in undergoing the training in the future.

The role includes acting operationally and functioning as a rescue leader or large sector chief. It is important to be a role model in the operational and everyday work. You will be part of a group of 6 fire masters who share the operational function of incident leaders within the Eskilstuna rescue service.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have training in LK 2 or equivalent education. You also have a B driver's license and are accustomed to using IT in everyday life. It is a significant advantage if you have work experience from a similar position within the rescue service previously. Another relevant education, such as leadership training, staff training, or Inspection A, is also meritorious for the position. Having good knowledge of English in both spoken and written form is also an advantage.

As a person, you are positive and good at engaging others in the work. You possess leadership qualities such as clarity, decisiveness, and responsiveness. You also have a holistic view and self-awareness with a desire to develop as an individual and leader within the rescue service.
