About the Role

As a substitute teacher, you are an important part of our daily work and fill in as needed when regular educators are absent. You notice, articulate, and strengthen situations that build trusting relationships, where children and adults are equal. You work to create a positive community both in caring for the children and in interactions with guardians, as well as with colleagues at the preschool.

You contribute creativity, a love for play, and show engagement and patience. You are active both indoors and outdoors with the children. You celebrate the successes of the children and your colleagues, big and small, and rejoice in their new knowledge and discoveries. About Finnboda Preschool

At our preschool, we believe that children learn in meaningful contexts together with other people, environments, and materials. Therefore, we see our environments as an important resource; something that is alive and constantly in motion. Play has a central place in our education as we see it as the foundation for all development and learning. We have teaching groups outdoors as well, and we work together across departments, where all children are everyone's children.

To prepare children for a digital present and future, we create conditions for them to understand digital technology, information flow, critical thinking, and the basics of programming.

Our teams consist of dedicated preschool teachers and childcare workers who, together with the children, drive the work forward. Children's participation and influence are important guiding principles in our daily work, as is every child's right to be themselves. We work norm-creative to counteract children being limited by stereotypical norms and to ensure that all children are reflected in the activities through, for example, pictures, books, and materials.

Finnboda Preschool is located in the historic and waterfront shipyard area of Finnboda harbor. We have six departments, with a total of 117 children, who are divided into smaller groups during the day, both outdoors and indoors. The preschool's outdoor environment is divided into two yards where we can spread out and let the children experience different types of environments. Nearby, there are beautiful nature and forest areas as well as good communication links to both Södermalm and other parts of Nacka.
