Youth Coach Wanted for a Young Person in Their Early Teens

Location: Heby/Uppsala Municipality

Scope: 3-5 days per week for 2-3 hours at a time

Weekdays after the youth's school hours and also on weekends

The Assignment

We are looking for a youth coach for a part-time assignment in one of our family homes in Heby Municipality, Uppsala County. The purpose of the assignment is to serve as a safe adult role model and act as a bridge between the placed youth and the family home, as well as to provide support at certain times of the day as outlined below. The support is intended to be provided outside the family home primarily. The youth coach will be part of a team consisting of the family home, social services, and family home consultant and will be guided and supported in the assignment by the family home consultant.

• Support in social relationships
• Create trust in the adult world
• Create a meaningful leisure time
• Guide the youth in making wise decisions
• Ensure health-promoting activities
• Some contact with the school
• Some documentation
• Collaboration with the family home, social services, school, and family home consultant

Requirements Profile

• You live in Heby or Uppsala Municipality, no compensation for travel time. It is a great advantage if you live near Östervåla
• The scope of the assignment makes it important to be flexible with working hours; the schedule is arranged continuously in consultation
• You are experienced in working with children and youth and have documented experience with good references
• You have experience working with children and youth with special needs
