This is a consulting assignment via Wrknest, starting as soon as possible. The assignment extends over 12 months with placement in Västerås.

About the position

We are now looking for a mechanical designer for our client in smart power solutions. Here you will play a key role in the development of future products, focusing on standardizing and improving existing solutions as well as contributing to the design of new components.

As a mechanical designer, you will be part of an agile team where colleagues in electronics, software, and project management collaborate to develop complete products. The role entails overall responsibility for mechanical design within the team's projects, with support from experienced colleagues in the mechanics department.

The work is conducted according to agile methodologies (scrum), where you work in sprints with planning, daily check-ins, and joint follow-ups.

Your future tasks 

• 3D modeling and design of components and details in Creo.
• Responsible for gathering requirements from other disciplines within the projects.
• Participate in the design of new solutions as well as further development and standardization of existing products.
• Collaboration with electronics and software engineers in cross-functional teams.
• Drive design solutions independently and present results to the team.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with a background in mechanical design who wants to contribute their expertise to an international development team. You are a creative team player who can take initiative, communicate with different functions, and translate requirements into smart and practical design solutions.

We prefer that you have:

• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Good experience with 3D-CAD, preferably in Creo.
• Experience in design, preferably of plastic components.
• Engineering degree from a college, university, or vocational school.
• Fluent English and preferably Swedish.

About the team you will join

You will be part of a team of about 7–8 people with product owners, electronics, and software engineers. There are a total of about 18 mechanical designers in the department with whom you can discuss your questions with. Here, HMI solutions and communication modules for smart power products are developed.
