What does a fiber technician with a railway focus do at Eltel?

The role mainly involves working with the customer (Trafikverket), both on roads and railways. Overall, you will work to rectify both large and small faults in the communication system. You will receive work orders from the team's production planner or project manager. We provide a round-the-clock service to the customer where it is important that we perform quickly, safely, and professionally.

In your role, you will:

• maintain critical infrastructure both independently and in a team
• troubleshoot and repair
• service and replace copper and fiber cables
• provide high service to the customer

As a technician, you have many different contacts, both with our production planner who distributes and assigns work to available technicians and with the customer when needed. Sometimes you need to ensure that you acquire what is needed to solve the problem for the customer. Communication is key.

As a technician with us at Eltel, standby duty may be relevant, which is every 4-5 weeks and is salary-enhancing. As a person, you are responsible and customer-focused, and you do what it takes to solve the task. You are driven to serve the customer in the best way while acting as Eltel's ambassador. You are independent and have an easy time communicating and collaborating both with colleagues and customers.

To succeed in a role as a technician at Eltel, it is important to:

• have a B driver's license for manual transmission
• master Swedish, both spoken and written, and have a good understanding of English
• have completed high school education (preferably in technology or electricity)
• have a flexible approach as the workday may need to be reprioritized

It is very meritorious if you have experience in railway work and knowledge of fiber and/or copper. It is also meritorious if you have electrical knowledge, as lighter electrical work may occur in this position. It is further meritorious to have completed training in Work on Roads (level 1 and/or 2). Also, ESA and Hot Work certifications are meritorious for this position. If you have access training for railways (BASÄ), it is highly meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have worked with communication equipment.
