Job Responsibilities

We are now seeking a senior physician/specialist physician for our breast surgery team in Varberg. The section conducts elective surgery, as well as postoperative care and acute ward care for breast-related diseases and oncological complications.

We work in teams with commonly occurring diagnoses and methods within breast surgery. Collaborative work is conducted with the sister hospital in Halmstad, which handles somewhat more complex procedures such as immediate reconstructions. The section also manages skin surgery at both hospitals, with primary and secondary excisions of melanoma and other related procedures.

Depending on your competence and development needs, parts of the work may also be carried out at Halmstad Hospital.

As a clinic, we are a relatively small unit where all subspecialties are represented, which leads to short decision-making paths and great opportunities for participation.

About the Workplace

Halland Hospital includes the emergency hospitals in Halmstad and Varberg, and we also conduct planned operations in Kungsbacka. The Surgical Clinic at Halland Hospital is an organizational unit with three service points: Kungsbacka, Varberg, and Halmstad. The clinic conducts both acute and elective inpatient and outpatient care. Both hospitals have endoscopic centers, where diagnostic, therapeutic, and screening activities are performed. Management of malignant upper gastrointestinal surgery and obesity surgery is concentrated in Varberg, while vascular surgery is located in Halmstad. Colorectal and breast surgery is available at both hospitals.

The employment is at the Surgical Clinic, Halland Hospital, with placement in Varberg.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed physician, specialist in surgery with several years of experience in the profession. You should be able to independently perform commonly occurring breast surgical procedures, such as mastectomy and partial mastectomies, as well as surgery in lymph node stations. You should be independent in regular outpatient activities, including SVF processes. Experience in reconstructive breast surgery of various types, reduction mammoplasty, and/or other types of plastic surgical experience is advantageous.

You are a committed and responsible person who easily adapts to new circumstances. You have excellent collaboration skills and find it easy to work with others. You work towards goals and focus on results. Furthermore, we see that you are stable and controlled in pressured situations and have the ability to focus on the right things. You can weigh complex information and various considerations and demonstrate judgment in statements, actions, and decisions. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
