About the Job

With youth in focus, your task as a midwife is to work preventively regarding unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.

Your responsibilities include:

• Contraceptive counseling and prescription
• Discussions about sexuality, lifestyle habits, and well-being
• Gynecological examinations
• Insertion and removal of long-acting contraceptives
• STI counseling, testing, treatment, and contact tracing
• Outreach work towards school classes and other groups of varying sizes

We work from a salutogenic holistic perspective to promote physical, mental, and sexual health. We are constantly developing our digital working methods and expect you to be a part of that work. You will work independently with youth in focus and at the request of young people regardless of gender, gender identity, ethnic background, religion/belief, disability, and sexual orientation.

At the Youth Clinic Halland, we work with both physical meetings and digital meetings with young people via video visits and our chat.

About the Workplace

The Youth Clinic Halland is an organization that works with physical, mental, reproductive, and sexual health. We cater to young people aged 13 to 23 years. The organization is LGBTQ-certified and has a norm-critical approach where meeting and respect for both young people, colleagues, and partners is a cornerstone. The clinics employ midwives, doctors, nursing assistants, psychologists, and social workers. A holistic view of the youth's situation and context is the foundation of our teamwork.

We are now looking for a midwife for the Youth Clinic South, which includes the clinics in Halmstad, Hylte, and Laholm, with the workplace located in Halmstad. The clinic is staffed by a dedicated and self-sufficient team focused on the best interests of the youth. It is important for us to share knowledge and experiences. Therefore, we are keen to discuss cases and help each other when needed. Here, we always keep the door open for one another.

Some parts of the position may involve work at one of our other clinics, for example, in Laholm. You will then travel there during working hours with travel compensation.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed midwife with prescribing rights, preferably with experience in contraceptive counseling, STI information, and gynecological examinations. Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing, as well as good computer skills, is required.

To thrive in the role of midwife with us, you have:

• A genuine interest in working with young people
• The ability and interest to work in both physical and digital meetings with youth
• Experience in taking initiative, being flexible, and working independently
• A willingness to work outreach with groups is a requirement

Competence in sexology and andrology, as well as experience with digital working methods, is an advantage, but as an employee, you will also be offered further education. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
