Do you want to be part of developing the future solutions for public transport – and at the same time contribute to societal benefit? Then I recommend you to read on.

We are now looking for a senior software developer who wants to work with the latest technologies and help further develop applications that are used daily by thousands of travelers. Here you will have the chance to contribute with your experience, drive, and ideas in a team that is at the forefront of technology and works together with one of Sweden's leading players in public transport.

What do we do?

At Decerno, we are specialists in tailored digital solutions and are proud that our assignments contribute to societal benefit.

This means that we understand that all customers are different and have unique conditions. We tailor our solutions according to the customer's needs, which allows us to offer our employees a smorgasbord of exciting projects and technologies.

While we create digital solutions, we also want to make a real difference. This is not just something we say; we mean it! Since our start in 1984, our ethical policy has been our compass, and we actively choose to avoid projects in the arms industry, gaming, tobacco, and alcohol.

About the role

As a software developer with us, you will be part of a team that develops systems for route calculations in public transport – solutions that are used daily by many people. The work primarily takes place in Java and includes both further development of our core product, which is based on the open-source project OpenTripPlanner and custom-developed software. You will also work with tricky algorithms, convert between different data formats, manage the operation of the systems in Kubernetes, and some infrastructure management set up through Terraform. We prioritize automated testing and continuous integration as a natural part of our working method.

We are looking for someone who is not only confident in their role as a developer but also enjoys making suggestions, improvements, and new ideas – both in code and in working methods.

The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period. The location is at our office in Malmö, so we would like you to live within commuting distance to be able to be on-site a couple of days a week.

Is this you?

  • You have several years of work experience in software development in Java
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Azure (preferably also Terraform)
  • University degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Previous experience working in a team

To succeed in the role, we believe you are a person who works independently and in a structured manner, while also valuing teamwork highly. You are happy to share your knowledge, answer questions, and support your colleagues when needed. With us, you will become an important part of the team where we help each other and learn from one another – but you also feel equally confident when driving your own tasks forward.

We are looking for someone who is curious and has a genuine interest in new technology. It is an extra merit if you have experience or interest in integrating and using AI to improve and develop our working methods.

Why choose Decerno

In our employee surveys, it is repeatedly clear that it is the fantastic colleagues, the fun and challenging projects, and the opportunity to contribute to societal benefit that makes our employees thrive so well at Decerno.

There are also a few additional aspects that we see as givens:

  • A flexible workplace with greater freedom to plan your day to balance work and private life
  • Extra parental benefits because we believe that family is the most important
  • We believe that your professional development is important! Therefore, we regularly organize internal training in our own Dec Academy, invest in AI, hold book clubs, and arrange annual conferences
  • We want you to feel good, enjoy, and have fun at work, and therefore we regularly organize various social activities, challenges, and health competitions – both virtually and on-site

In addition to this, we also offer a broad benefits package that includes, among other things, wellness grants and a generous insurance package.

Does this sound like your next career step?
