Welcome to the Ear Department and our team of medical secretaries.

As a medical secretary in the Ear Department, you will gain broad expertise, experience great variation in your work, and act as the spider in the web.

The Ear-Nose-Throat Clinic, Hearing Center, Educational Hearing Care, and Speech Therapy Clinic are the units belonging to the Ear Department. In these units, a mix of professional categories with different specialties work together, including doctors, nurses, audiologists, and medical secretaries. Here, we have close cooperation between the various professional categories that treat everything from hearing impairments, earwax blockages to different types of cancer. In addition to outpatient services, we also conduct emergency and surgical operations.

The role of a medical secretary requires good communication skills in both spoken and written language, as well as an understanding of the needs of the organization. Collaboration with colleagues and healthcare personnel within the unit and other departments is important. Being flexible is crucial as the work pace can sometimes be high, as well as the ability to structure and organize your work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical tasks for medical secretaries include dictation writing, registration in quality registers, handling referrals, monitoring, and managing phone and mail communications.

We staff the reception a few days a week.

Focus on diagnosis and procedure classification. We also encourage you to take an active part in our organizational development. There will be an opportunity to work remotely to some extent when the organization allows.

QUALIFICATIONS

A vocational qualification as a medical secretary or equivalent is required. Good organizational and collaborative skills are important, as well as professionalism in your work. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, you are flexible and meticulous, and you have a desire to help others.
