Project Assistant in Political Science

Gaskeuniversiteete/Mittuniversitetet is located in the heart of the South Sámi area in Saepmie. The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is a cross-regional institution with operations at Campus Sundsvall and Campus Östersund. The activities include research and education in subjects such as English, Gender Studies, History, Criminology, Literary Studies, Social Studies, Sociology, Political Science, Swedish as a Second Language, and the Swedish Language. Research is conducted within each subject as well as within the Risk and Crisis Research Center (RCR), the Forum for Gender Studies (FGV), and DEMICOM.

Job Responsibilities

The position involves primarily working on two research projects, including conducting, compiling, and analyzing interviews and documents, presenting results orally at participating workplaces, and contributing to the written compilation of results.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of project assistant in political science, candidates must have a master's degree in political science. Good knowledge of English and Swedish is required.

Assessment Criteria

Scientific experience, methodological knowledge with a particular focus on interviews, teaching experience, and work within the framework of the subject's research profile are meritorious. Particularly advantageous for the position is experience from previous work in research projects related to the implementation and follow-up of political decisions at the local level. Experience in teaching political science at the university level or related subjects is also meritorious.

Personal Qualities

Since the position involves extensive collaboration with colleagues within the projects and interviews where sensitive personal data will be handled, you need to have good collaborative skills, social competence, and strong communication skills in both spoken and written forms. As a project assistant, you should be able to work independently and have a good ability to plan your work.

Employment and Start Date

The position is a special fixed-term employment at 50% starting from 25-02-01 or by agreement, but no later than 25-07-31.
