Summer Supervisor for Street/Park/Harbor

The Technical Division operates independently and consists of five areas: Street/Park/Harbor, Nyköping Water, Waste Management, Municipal Properties, and Meal Service. These are supported by a project department, finance department, and an administrative staff. The division employs approximately 400 staff and has an annual turnover of over 1 billion SEK. Our clients are the Municipal Executive Board, the Environmental and Community Planning Committee, and the Culture and Leisure Committee.

The Street, Park, Harbor section within the Technical Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of streets, parks, and Nyköping Harbor on behalf of the Building and Technical Committee, as well as certain recreational facilities on behalf of the Culture and Leisure Committee. The operation ensures that Nyköping has a functional and safe street and road system that meets the traffic safety, security, and accessibility needs of road users. Well-maintained streets, beautiful park environments, safe playgrounds, and a vibrant harbor will make Nyköping an attractive place for both residents and visitors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Street/Park/Harbor section is looking for an engaged summer supervisor to guide the municipality's summer youth who will have summer internships in the Park during the summer of 2024. It is important that you have an interest in working with young people as you will be responsible for daily planning and execution of the work. Your role as a summer supervisor involves performing tasks together with the youth and guiding them in practical work. This includes planning and distributing tasks such as weeding, pruning, and litter picking, for example. You will have the support of regular supervisors in your role, but we consider it an advantage if you have experience in park work.

The work with the summer youth is estimated to take about 75% of the working time, with the remaining time participating in regular park activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply:

• have completed upper secondary education
• have a B driver's license
• understand and master Swedish

Meritorious are:

• experience working with and leading youth
• experience in park work

We are looking for someone who has a good ability to lead groups and can engage and guide others. We see that you enjoy coordinating and organizing tasks and have an interest in working with young people. You have good communication skills, are pedagogical, and are good at meeting other people.
