The Department of Children and Education is responsible for preschool, school, and upper secondary school. We are approximately 550 employees working together on education and development for the age group 1-19 years. Our approach is characterized by high and positive expectations that people grow in their interactions with others.

Placement: Högtofta School.

Högtofta School is a F-6 school beautifully located at the foot of Ryssberget. This provides the opportunity to use nature as a classroom. The school has just over 90 students distributed across 7 classes. Lindens after-school care is located at Högtofta School at the edge of Ryssberget and has plenty of nature around the corner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will support a student, a girl aged 7 living in the northern part of Sölvesborg Municipality. The student has certain medical care needs and is partially in a wheelchair.

The student requires varied support based on the school's activities. You will follow the student's school day with support during both lesson time and breaks. You will be attentive to the student's daily well-being and support her by being clear about when a break and rest are needed, but also being adaptable when the student requires it. It is important that you as a teaching assistant can assess situations when you should step back and just be in the periphery or when you need to step forward to support the student concretely.

Within the primary school, we work a lot with values and how we meet each other as integrated and constantly present parts of the teaching and the operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with experience as a teaching assistant or similar and who has knowledge of special needs in children. You should have training in catheterization and experience with children with reduced body function.

It is important to be able to create a close relationship with the student and contribute to making the school a safe place. You will work together with teachers at the school and have daily contact with the guardians regarding the student.

You should have a strong commitment to your work and a great interest in both the student and the student group. You should be communicative, solution-focused, and have a professional demeanor towards your surroundings. Experience with the aforementioned specific skills is fundamental, but personal suitability is crucial.

The Central Child and Student Health will be available as guiding support for you and the work around the student.

We prefer female applicants due to personal integrity as there are tasks involving intimate hygiene.
