We are looking for someone who has a great interest in people and an ability to build good relationships.

As a student assistant in a customized high school, you will work based on each student's individual needs and conditions. The students have a great need for care and require support in various situations throughout the school day.

You will conduct and develop the students' education together with the team and, together with colleagues, be responsible for the planning and implementation of the work. The work is physically demanding and includes elements of care. As a staff member at the adapted high school, you are expected to participate in activities such as forest walks, floor games, as well as swimming and bathing in the swimming pool.

About You
We see that you have experience working with students who need AAC (alternative and augmentative communication) and have the ability to interpret social interactions and signals from the students. Furthermore, we are looking for someone who is a secure and trustworthy adult role model and who has a professional and low-affective approach.

You have completed high school education with a focus on children and leisure or healthcare, or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. It is a merit if you have completed a student assistant training and have experience working with people with intellectual and physical disabilities.

You have a great interest in people and an ability to build good relationships. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and responsive to the individual needs of the students. To thrive in the role, it is required that you are calm and pedagogical, have great patience, and the ability to create security for each student. You should also have clarity in your actions, and great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

About Vägga High School
Vägga High School is the only municipal high school in Karlshamn municipality. The school is beautifully located in Vägga's beech forest, near the sea, only a ten-minute walk from Karlshamn square. We offer fourteen national programs, three programs at the adapted high school, and four introductory programs. The position is temporary until the summer at 80% capacity. Access is according to agreement, and salary requirements are stated in your application.
