APL, Apotek Produktion & Laboratorier AB, is tasked with manufacturing extemporaneous medicines, which are individualized medications for a single patient, aimed at improving and saving lives. We are now looking for a Microbiologist who is curious and interested in developing within our broad and varied range of medicines that make a difference for patients with special needs. 

The position You will be part of a close-knit team characterized by an open climate with a clear focus on collaboration where everyone helps to ensure that we maintain high quality throughout all processes, both in terms of short and long-term deadlines. 

Analysis of medicines, raw materials, and water is performed according to methods described in the European Pharmacopoeia, such as determining the level of viable microorganisms and testing for specific, disease-causing microorganisms. Manufacturing facilities are monitored through particle measurement and analysis of the number of viable microorganisms in the air and on surfaces. If necessary, identification of microbiological isolates is performed. Preparation of culture media and other reagents may also be included in the tasks, as well as validation of methods, instruments, and facilities.

The work is performed according to GMP, with all that it entails in terms of documentation, deviation management, change management, etc. Microbiological analysis of samples from other pharmaceutical companies is part of the operations, and collaboration with external customers is part of your daily tasks.

The position is a permanent employment that may start with a probationary period. The working hours are full-time, 40 hours a week, and are scheduled during daytime from Monday to Friday. The start date will be agreed upon, and the location is Malmö.

Who are you We are looking for someone with an academic background in microbiology or equivalent experience.

• You have experience working in a microbiological lab   
• Good knowledge of GMP and associated regulations
• Experience with lean, improvement work, and molecular biology is an advantage
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
