The clinic consists of a care department, outpatient care with traditional reception and treatment unit, radiation treatment unit, and a palliative advisory team. In total, we are about 120 employees.

As part of ensuring the right competence, we now have the opportunity to offer you employment at the clinic. We offer a rotation position between radiation treatment and ward 40. This means that you will share your position between these units. You will be part of two wonderful teams, have stimulating work tasks, and develop together with the clinic's employees.

The radiation treatment unit is responsible for providing radiation therapy to patients with cancer for curative and palliative purposes. Our overall goal is to offer patients qualified radiation treatment with high accessibility, which we succeed well with. We have three treatment machines and a CT used for preparatory examinations. In the field of radiation treatment, there is constant development with new treatment methods and techniques.

Ward 40 is the oncology clinic's inpatient ward with 18 care places. Here we work in teams with a holistic perspective around patients with oncological and hematological diseases in curative or palliative stages. With us, you are part of a multiprofessional team where you get the opportunity to see the whole patient and their relatives. You will use advanced care technology and be part of the development of cancer care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In radiation treatment, you will work as a nursing responsible nurse by following the patient from start to finish in the treatment. You will alternate technical work at the radiation treatment machine with nursing and supportive conversations. For patients with combined treatment, you will also administer cytostatics in tablet form. You will have your own nursing visits and close collaboration with doctors, physicists, and nurses in dose planning.

In ward 40, you will work with both acute care and palliative care, which means a varied job. In addition to the usual nursing tasks, after completing special training, you will also provide cytostatic treatments. Here we work in pairs with a nurse and a nursing assistant.

The employment begins with studies of 45 HP in oncological nursing with a focus on radiation therapy via Lund University. The studies include both theory and practical training. The education lasts for 30 weeks starting in week 17 or week 37 in 2025. The practical training is conducted with us at the Radiation Treatment in Växjö. You will study full-time at a distance. During the education, you will receive a training salary and other benefits according to Region Kronoberg's investment in specialist training for nurses.

Once you have completed the education, you will start working at the Radiation Treatment Unit. When you are assessed as secure in your role, you will receive a new introduction period at the clinic's inpatient ward, ward 40.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with a strong sense of patient interaction and good nursing skills, but also knowledge and interest in technology and physics. We see that you care about good collaboration and are engaged in your work. You have a high ambition to meet the organization's goals. If you have experience in oncological care and/or radiation treatment, it is an advantage.
