The Väderöarna are a unique destination in Sweden's westernmost archipelago.

We attract guests from all over the world, primarily from Sweden and Norway. We are open year-round, but most of our operations take place during the summer high season.

We are based on the mainland in Hamburgsund but also operate in Fjällbacka.

At Väderöarnas Värdshus, we run hotel and restaurant operations year-round on the island of Storö, approximately 8 nautical miles west of Fjällbacka. Guests reach the Värdshus via our boats, catamarans, and RIB boats, which are up to 12 meters long and can carry up to 12 passengers.

We are now looking for boat drivers with at least a class 7 ship's officer certificate and a class 8 engineering officer certificate or equivalent, who want a varied job in the world's most beautiful archipelago. The positions are primarily seasonal, but there is an opportunity for year-round employment for the right person.

We are looking for someone with good experience in handling boats. Since you are often the first representative of the Värdshus that our guests meet in person, we have high demands for your social skills and personal qualities. The boat trip to Väderöarna is a significant part of the experience for our guests, and we want you to make it a positive journey for them. During the summer, our boats operate shuttle services between Fjällbacka-Hamburgsund and Storö, and since the schedule can often be tight, you need to manage stressful situations and operate the boats safely and with good seamanship even under pressure while making our guests feel welcome and secure. It is important to be able to pitch in where needed, whether it concerns your own work area or if someone in the kitchen needs help. Being able to quickly and smoothly solve logistical problems is also essential.

Your tasks will also include transporting goods to the island, servicing and maintaining boats and other equipment, and to some extent, working at the Värdshus.

Requirements:

At least a class 8 ship's officer certificate

Engineering officer class 8 or equivalent

Meritorious:

Previous experience in service professions.

Engineer training and experience with engines.

Experience with maintenance and service on boats.
