Ambulansen Pajala is one of 15 stations in the Ambulance Service of Norrbotten, we are a rural station with a 24-hour vehicle and a day vehicle.

We are looking for

We are looking for someone who is either a licensed nurse or a trained nursing assistant. You have at least three years of continuous possession of a B driver's license and good driving experience. It is an advantage if you as a nurse have further education in ambulance care, anesthesia, intensive care, emergency care, or if you as a nursing assistant have specialized training in ambulance care.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. As a person, you find it easy to collaborate with different colleagues. In your interactions with patients and relatives, you are attentive and have a good understanding of people in various difficult situations. You possess personal maturity and the ability to make independent decisions with good judgment. You must be stress-resistant, able to remain calm, and work effectively in stressful situations. In your interactions with people, you act professionally and build trust. Good physical condition is required as heavy lifting is common in the job. Tests will be conducted prior to employment.

What you will work with

In the ambulance service, you work with a socially important function that involves providing pre-hospital emergency care around the clock. You meet patients of all ages who have suffered from acute illness or injury, either in their homes, outdoors, or at accident and injury sites. Together with a paramedic or a nurse, you form a team that is often the first on the scene. As an ambulance nurse, you make the initial assessment, provide emergency care, and have the medical responsibility to decide on necessary care and treatment measures.

Each intervention involves unique situations and challenges where your help can be life-saving and make a real difference. You work closely together within the team and in collaboration with other professions. The ambulance service is organizationally its own unit within the acute care block and collaborates with emergency departments, health centers, municipalities, rescue services, and police.

Information about the position

Temporary position for 6 months with the possibility of extension. Working hours day and night without on-call duty. Selection and interviews are ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.

Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreements.
