About Hagalund

In May 2025, we will open a newly built and adapted group home in Hagalund. The group home is located in Hamrångefjärden and is adapted for individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, or autism-like conditions. The group home has 6 adapted apartments but also offers daily activities in a separate building. Both the group home and the daily activities are adapted in terms of materials, design, and organization. Everything to facilitate for the target group and based on threats and violence. Many individuals within LSS with challenging and problematic behaviors move from residence to residence. Our goal is for them to find a home. With the right adjustments, a well-thought-out environment, and a focus on positive behavioral support (learning theory), this is possible. We have chosen the direction of Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) for two reasons. Firstly, we see that it leads to increased quality of life for those living with us, and secondly, a reduction in problematic behaviors. We believe in learning and development in the individual's interaction with the environment. Hagalund is designed to provide a safe and harmonious environment. We work with low-arousal responses and clarifying pedagogy, which means routines and tailored strategies to create security and predictability for each individual. This approach creates an environment where residents can develop based on their unique conditions and achieve a higher quality of life. The daily activities provide our residents with opportunities for meaningful engagement, focusing on physical activity, creativity, and gardening. The operation has an adapted activity bus and goes out daily for activities.
