The Education Administration is responsible for all activities within the municipality's preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, after-school care, high schools, and adult education.

The Meal Service is responsible for the food and meals all the way to the diners in preschools, schools, and high schools, as well as to the reception kitchens in special housing. We prepare about 10,000 servings daily distributed across approximately 44 preparation and reception kitchens throughout the municipality. Our vision is that Sigtuna Municipality's sustainable meal experience will be one of the best in Sweden, and our mission is to take the meal experience into the future and beyond! We are looking for a mobile chef who will be employed by the Meal Service and have their workplace in the kitchen of a school or preschool where we prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Working as a mobile chef means that your workplace may vary from day to day or week to week depending on the absence within the group. You will either work alone in the kitchen or together with other chefs and kitchen assistants.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to planning, preparing, and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks, tasks also include documentation of the kitchen's self-control, ordering goods via electronic programs, picking goods, washing dishes, and cleaning. We measure and register our food waste daily as part of our work to achieve the global goals according to Agenda 2030.

We are looking for someone who is engaged, loves to cook, provides great service, and has the desire and ability to develop meals within schools and preschools. You always strive for the highest quality in the food you prepare and serve and are driven by a genuine interest in food and health. You have a structured way of working and are used to planning your workday based on the menu and recipes. You always prioritize the best interests of the students and children.

Working as a chef in the Meal Service means you have daily communication and collaboration with guests and colleagues, where you together focus on the meal experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

It is required that you have a chef's education and at least five years of experience working in a hot kitchen. It is advantageous if you have experience working alone in a kitchen.

We see it as a given that you have education and practical experience in food hygiene and also good knowledge and experience in preparing allergy-friendly meals.

Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement to ensure that safe food is served to our guests.

A driver's license and a personal vehicle are required.

To fit into the role, we see that you are a cook with a sense for both good flavors and the visual aspect. It is also important that you enjoy working in different kitchens and with different colleagues from day to day. We place great emphasis on your flexibility and ability to take a lot of personal responsibility. You have a pronounced sense of service, whether it is internal or external, and want to be part of the Meal Service's development journey towards making Sigtuna Municipality's sustainable meal experience one of the best in Sweden.
