Training Officer Norrland Shooting Platoon

Position Offers

We are looking for someone who is flexible, solution-oriented, and wants to be part of the development of future Norrland infantry units. We will offer you opportunities to develop with exciting tasks, initially under provisional conditions.

About the Unit

The Basic Training Battalion Ångermanland Infantry Battalion (Infbat) at I 21 in Sollefteå trains conscripts for several different combat units. The battalion was established in 2024 and is conducting its first training year with around 100 conscripts. In 2025, the battalion will expand its operations and we are now looking for more instructors for the shooting platoons in the Norrland Shooting Company.

Main Responsibilities

As a training officer and instructor in one of the shooting platoons, you will train conscripts on the unit's material systems together with other officers in the platoon and company. Primarily GRG18, KSP58 (with variants), mine equipment, and night sensors. The shooting platoons train around 30 conscripts annually, and you will have a unique opportunity to help develop the future Norrland infantry. You can lead as a war platoon commander or in another position as agreed with your supervisor.

Qualifications

Requirements
• Professional officer OF1/OR6
• Previous experience working within the Armed Forces
• Driver's license B

Desirable
• Background from ground combat units or ranger units
• Training on GRG18, KSP58 (with variants), night sensors, and UAV06A
• Instructor Bv309/Bv410
• Experience from a similar position

You have a high security awareness, are meticulous and flexible, which means you can adjust your pace when required and can work under provisional conditions. You have the ability to work independently and can see the whole picture in our organization. You are compliant with decisions made and dare to make decisions when the position requires it.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability during recruitment.

Employment form: Permanent employment as a professional officer. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the authority.
Work location: Sollefteå
Employment rate: Full-time
Working hours: Flexible working hours within certain frameworks apply. The position involves travel and training at other locations, and participation in exercise activities may result in absence and work being conducted outside regular working hours.
Individual salary applies in the Armed Forces.
Start date: By agreement.

Information about the Armed Forces and the recruiting unit:

The Armed Forces is set to grow, and we need you on our team. The Parliament has decided to re-establish six new units, of which the Västernorrland Regiment with Jämtland Field Ranger Corps (I 21) is one. The unit will operate in two locations, Sollefteå and Östersund, and will be responsible for training and maintaining two infantry battalions and a military base. I 19 supports the establishment, and we are now hiring personnel for I 21.
