About the Unit

The Basic Training Battalion Ångermanland Infantry Battalion (Infbat) at I 21 in Sollefteå trains conscripts for several different combat units. The battalion was established in 2024 and is conducting its first training year with around 100 conscripts. In 2025, the battalion will expand its operations, and we are now looking for a deputy company commander for the Norrland Skytte Company.

Main Responsibilities

As a deputy company commander, you assist the company commander in leading the company. The company is expected to train up to 150 soldiers annually, divided among rifle platoons and headquarters and support platoons. During the training year 25/26, the company will train under 100 conscripts divided among rifle platoons. You have a particular responsibility for planning and executing exercises within the company. In the war organization, you will serve as a company commander or in another position as agreed with your supervisor. Furthermore, you are planned to eventually serve as a company commander in one of the battalion's basic training companies, in staff at the battalion and regiment level, or alternatively in central staffs.

You will also continuously participate in the development of future Norrland infantry units and may be responsible for experimental activities during the basic training of conscripts.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Officer's degree, OF1/OF2 or SO 7/8.
• Previous experience working within the Armed Forces
• Driving license B

Desirable

• Background from ground combat units or ranger units.
• Service as a platoon leader
• Service in company command

Employment type: Permanent position as a professional officer. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not already employed by the authority.

Employment rate: Full-time
Working hours: Flexible working hours within certain frameworks apply. The position involves travel and training at other locations, and participation in exercise activities may result in absence and work being conducted outside of regular working hours.

The Armed Forces is set to grow, and we now need you on our team. The Parliament has decided to re-establish six new units, where the Västernorrland Regiment with Jämtlands Field Ranger Corps (I 21) is one of them. The unit will operate in two locations, Sollefteå and Östersund, and will be responsible for training and maintaining two infantry battalions and a military base. I 19 supports the establishment, and we are now hiring personnel for I 21.
