About the position

Department 76 focuses on general internal medicine, and our patients have a wide range of internal medicine diagnoses. We have 12 ward beds with single rooms. Our goal is to care for acutely ill patients. Here, you have the opportunity to further develop a broad competence in internal medicine. We have direct admissions from the emergency department around the clock and take over patients from other areas within the hospital, which means you will meet and care for patients with both acute and chronic medical conditions.

We are located in newly renovated, spacious premises with a large, lovely terrace for lunch and coffee breaks. We work in teams, learn from each other, and have good cooperation between professions where the patient's best interest is our common goal.

Job description

The work as a nursing assistant is varied and involves qualified care and nursing of patients. We work in teams around our patients, with teams consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, and paramedics. Therefore, we place great importance on you being attentive to others' needs; you sense, listen, and communicate information clearly and directly.

In addition to basic care, your main tasks include regular monitoring of vital parameters, nutritional needs, venous and capillary blood sampling, catheter insertion, wound dressing, ECG recording, mobilization, etc.

Qualifications

Qualified nursing assistant with a high school degree in the Care and Nursing Program for 3 years (2500 points), the Care and Nursing Program, Komvux, three terms (minimum 1350 points), or other equivalent nursing assistant education. In the case of other equivalent education in municipal adult education or older education for nursing assistants, an individual assessment is made.

Experience in emergency care is desirable.

Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

You need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed with the title nursing assistant; otherwise, you may be employed within the category of healthcare assistant.

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who always puts the patient first, takes great responsibility for their own work, and wants to be involved in developing care and nursing. The work requires a good ability to work independently, but at the same time, you are part of a team and contribute to the overall functioning. We are looking for someone who is committed, humble, and focused on care, is flexible, enjoys working in a team, but is also independent and takes initiative. You are positive, service-oriented, have good collaboration skills that create good relationships with patients, relatives, and colleagues. You should be calm and able to handle stress and work according to routines.
