The hospitals in the west are a management within the Västra Götaland Region and consist of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. We are the orthopedic and surgical department at Kungälv Hospital and you can find us in our nice premises on the 2nd floor.

More about us

Almost 5 years ago, we moved into one of Sweden's most modern ward buildings. The department has 28 beds where all patients have their own room including a bathroom. The environment is fresh and easy to work in. The department focuses on broad orthopedic and surgical care, both acute and planned. We care for patients with acute conditions after trauma, accidents, and illness. Patients with infections and pain issues are also cared for in the department.

Our goal is to constantly develop and improve our operations and to always strive to become even better when it comes to patient safety, patient satisfaction, and working environment.

We are committed to having a good working environment, a safe environment, and close cooperation on both good and less good days. Your future colleagues are a lovely group who are considerate towards patients, relatives, and each other, and together we make the department a place where everyone should feel comfortable.

Tasks

As a nurse with us, you will have the opportunity to work broadly within both orthopedics and surgery - and you will be an important part of our change and improvement work. You will have daily close cooperation with assistant nurses, doctors, paramedics, and medical secretaries.

Our goal is for all newly employed to enter the work in the best possible way, therefore you will have an individually adapted introduction. In our department, we have a mentor nurse with solid experience from the operation who will guide and support new employees through the introduction and who is also available after the introduction for follow-up and to provide support and advice.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and who have an interest in working in acute care. It is a merit, but not a requirement, if you have experience in orthopedic or surgical care and are used to taking responsibility and making your own decisions.

You enjoy challenges, have the ability to make quick decisions, and you can handle acute situations in a calm and methodical manner. For you, good teamwork, joy of working in a group, and a good approach to both patients and colleagues are a matter of course. It is also important that you can work independently.

Working in a ward is a team effort and we therefore attach great importance to personal suitability. We hope that you want to be our new colleague!
