Water and Sewage Projects and Investigations

Description of the group,

An entire municipality depends on us carrying out our mission in everything from natural areas to urban environments. One of our most important water and sewage issues to meet tomorrow's needs is to continuously work to improve and develop our entire water and sewage system. The Water and Sewage Projects and Investigations group within the Water and Sewage Department has the main task of conducting water and sewage projects within the existing facility and is responsible for capacity and investigation issues related to our water and sewage system. The group consists of a manager, four project managers, and four investigation engineers.

We are looking for someone who wants to lead, plan, and carry out water and sewage projects of various characters and complexities. In the projects, you lead the work from system documentation to completed and handed over facility. Projects that you will drive involve new and reinvestment projects related to the existing water and sewage network.

Examples of projects include renovation of existing facilities (water reservoirs and sewage pumping stations), new main water pipelines, and renovation/replacement of existing water and sewage pipelines.  

In your role as a project manager, you have the responsibility and mandate to ensure that the project delivers the right quality at the right cost and according to the agreed schedule. To provide structure and control, we work according to a project methodology and in a project tool. In your role as a project manager, you will seek the help of external consultants with the right expertise for the current project.

Responsibilities

Your duties as a project manager mainly involve:

• Manage and control your project by, among other things, working with risk management, following up on financial forecasts, having updated schedules, and continuously ensuring that you have control and oversight of your projects. 
• Lead, plan, carry out, and follow up on your projects according to the established project plan and ensure that the water and sewage facility meets technical requirements.
• Control the design, participate and lead the procurement phase and implementation part, and ensure that relevant documentation, permits, and agreements are in place.
• Produce various types of decision and information documents tailored to different stakeholders.

The position is a permanent full-time position with entry by agreement.

The position will be classified as security class, and a security investigation including security investigation interviews and registry checks will be conducted before employment.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has;

• technical education at university or college level or work experience equivalent to the educational level.
• several years of experience in the role of project manager, or you come from a role as a design manager or project leader.
• knowledge of technical infrastructure systems.
• experience in leading projects according to project methodology and working in project tools.
• knowledge of industry standard agreements such as ABK, AB/ABT, LOU/LUF, and AMA, as well as practical experience in construction law.
• A driver's license, which is a requirement.
• We see it as a merit with knowledge and experience in water and sewage.
• You may have previous experience from a municipality or municipal water company, but we do not see it as a requirement.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have leadership qualities and a high drive with a focus on goals and results in your work. As a project manager, you often have several projects running simultaneously, so you need the ability to independently plan and prioritize your work. Making decisions and taking initiatives, being persistent, and being able to adapt to changing circumstances are important qualities in the role. You are structured and have the ability to see the big picture and drive your projects with high business acumen.

As the work largely involves collaborations, interactions, and contacts with both internal and external stakeholders, you need to be communicative and have an easy time creating relationships and collaborating.
