Newly graduated non-licensed doctors for psychiatric 24-hour care in Varberg

We are now looking for newly graduated non-licensed doctors with a keen interest in psychiatric care to join our team in 24-hour care in Varberg as junior doctors!

About the position

We continuously work with our training program for our Intern/BT Doctors, where the appreciation of this work can be seen in, for example, the internship ranking where we have had high positions for several years with a highly appreciated psychiatry section.

As a junior doctor with us, you will meet patients with various psychiatric diagnoses, and the work involves typical ward tasks such as admissions, daily evaluations, final notes, and referrals, among other things. You will work closely with senior doctors and participate in the treatment and follow-up of patients as well as in planning for discharge. You work in a team with other professional groups, and through supervision, you will gain an increased understanding of healthcare and develop your ability to meet and treat psychiatric patients.

Shifts at our emergency department including night and weekend work are included in the position, and you will handle patients with clear support from senior doctors/on-call doctors.

You will be part of the medical team and collaborate with other junior doctors as well as specialist trainees, senior doctors/specialist doctors, and chief senior doctors. All junior doctors with us receive a relatively comprehensive introduction and continuous supervision.

About the workplace

The Psychiatry in Halland is Region Halland's administration for all public specialist psychiatry. This includes psychiatry for children, adolescents, and adults, both outpatient and 24-hour care. The Psychiatry in Halland has about 850 employees and activities in all the region's municipalities. The Psychiatry is led by an administrative manager, operational managers, department managers, and medically responsible managers (MLA). The Psychiatry in Halland is in an intensive development phase where we work to create a well-functioning psychiatry and develop our care processes towards more open forms of care. Other focus areas include increasing patient participation and being perceived as an attractive employer.

Our 24-hour care is located in Halmstad and Varberg with associated psychiatric emergency departments and on-call services. In Halmstad, there are three care departments and in Varberg 5 care departments with two county-wide departments such as forensic psychiatry and addiction department.

Our outpatient care is located around our Halland cities, Laholm, Hylte, Halmstad, Falkenberg, Varberg, and Kungsbacka, and there is close cooperation between our outpatient and 24-hour care.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have graduated from the medical program awaiting internship with the National Board of Health and Welfare's decision to work as a junior doctor. We cannot offer PT for those who have passed the theoretical and practical exam with non-European education or KUL course.

To ensure good and safe communication with colleagues, patients/customers, and other contacts, we require good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

We see it as a merit if you have previous work experience as a junior doctor, local anchoring in northern Halland, and previous work experience in specialist psychiatric care.

In addition to being thorough, you are calm and have a good and professional approach to patients and colleagues. You collaborate well with others and have the ability to listen and adapt your communication based on the counterpart. Furthermore, you are good at planning and prioritizing your work efficiently. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
