The Opportunity

HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group within Hitachi Energy that develops, manufactures, and sells systems for direct current transmission worldwide. HVDC technology enables the transmission of electricity over long distances and the interconnection of different power grids.

As a Line Manager, you will be based in Ludvika or Västerås and report to the global manager for HVDC Civil Design & Aux Systems, as well as become part of the management team for these systems. You will lead a European team of 17 people based in Sweden, Germany, and England. As a manager and leader, you will represent Hitachi Energy by engaging, developing, and inspiring the team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead a dedicated team of engineers and specialists within a global organization.
  • Ensure that our projects are managed according to our procedures and that the design follows our specifications.
  • Monitor the projects and ensure that their progress is in line with our expectations.
  • Recruit and allocate resources for projects.
  • Plan and carry out business development in line with our overall strategy.
  • Be responsible for the group's competence development.
  • Encourage collaboration with other departments within the organization.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field of engineering.
  • Experience in construction design or construction project management is a requirement.
  • Managerial experience is advantageous.
  • You have a genuine interest in people and construction projects/construction technology.
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written, is a requirement.
  • You are a team player who appreciates collaboration, both internally and externally.
