Bygdsiljum Sawmill processes the timber from the forests of Västerbotten. Here, everything from sawn to further processed products is produced, capturing the unique values of the slow-growing, strong quality raw material. We are driven by our passion for timber products and are at the forefront of using new technology to maximize the use of the raw material. We employ around 200 employees. You can find our sawmill approximately 6 miles southwest of Skellefteå.

Together with Martinsons and our building systems, we enable delivery from seed to finished wooden houses. We aim to be an enabling force in circular and future-proof community development. Your Future Challenge

If you are a problemsolver with an eye for technical details, then the position of maintenance mechanic is for you!

At the sawmill in Bygdsiljum, the focus is on increasing the proportion of planned maintenance efforts to have a well-functioning and preventive maintenance.

As a maintenance mechanic, you will be part of a shift team and will be a key link in the daily operations. You will perform both planned and more urgent maintenance work in close cooperation with colleagues and other production staff. You will work on troubleshooting and actions, where welding, turning, and milling are recurring tasks. Some independent planning is included in the position.

Since the position involves a large amount of independent work, it is important that you are self-driven and good at taking your own initiatives. You are humble and see the benefits of good cooperation and communication. You have a technical interest, an eye for detail, and never compromise on safety.

We consider it a merit if you have a relevant technical education and experience in maintenance work within the industry. You have previous experience in hydraulics and pneumatics as well as basic electrical knowledge. Experience can replace formal educational requirements.
