JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a school librarian for Georgshill School. We are a K-9 school with about 500 students. The school also has an adapted school. Together with educators and all other staff, you will help create a positive learning environment for our students.

We are looking for a librarian who is interested in the educational mission of libraries and who enjoys working with media and information literacy (MIK) and reading development. You will work both in the school library and also teach in classrooms together with educators.

The position includes reading time. To succeed in your work, there are documented goals that require school management to enable close collaboration between educators and the school librarian.

The position is part-time at 80%, with 50% at Georgshill School and 30% at Frostaskolan.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in Library and Information Science or an education that we consider equivalent for the role. You should have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both written and verbal, as the work involves communication with educators and students. Experience in promoting reading among children and youth, as well as guidance and teaching in information literacy, is an advantage. Previous experience as a school librarian is also a merit.

It is a given that you have an interest in working with children and youth and in educational issues. You also have a strong interest and good knowledge of children's and youth literature and see information retrieval and critical thinking as essential parts of your work.

You have technical and legal competence in digitization, databases, marketing, and metadata management.

In your work, you plan and structure effectively, but see opportunities for change and have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
