We are looking for support educators for Sextettgatan's short-term accommodation.

The support educator will assist in quality work and a holistic view of the care recipient. The goal is to ensure good living conditions for the care recipient in terms of participation and independence.

At Sextettgatan's short-term accommodation, children and young people up to 23 years of age primarily reside. Adults over 23 may also stay in certain cases if they still live at home. All care recipients have varying needs for support in their daily lives. In addition to the support educator, several support assistants work in a service that operates around the clock every day of the year.

Responsibilities

In the role of support educator, you will work to support your colleagues in various communication methods and clarifying pedagogy based on the care recipient's individual needs. You will work with implementation plans and social documentation according to applicable legislation as well as guidelines and instructions in our management system. Your work includes introducing new staff together with your colleagues, guiding, and being a good role model in pedagogical work. As a support educator, you will teach and implement new pedagogical methods in the workgroup. You should be proactive in the pedagogical work at the workplace.

As a support educator, you contribute to ensuring that the care recipient has the opportunity to live as meaningful and independent a life as possible.

Introducing new children and young people is seen as part of the support educator's work, which may involve being present from the welcome conversation with the family, supporting colleagues in social documentation, and ensuring that implementation plans are in place.

The support educator is also part of the daily work surrounding the care recipient. This includes care interventions as well as participating in various activities with the care recipients. Working hours are during the day, evening, night, and every other weekend throughout the year.

In Karlstad municipality, there is a network for support educators, supervisors, and business developers who meet to exchange experiences and learn from each other. In addition to our internal network, there is a network for support educators where students training to become support educators are also welcome.

Qualifications

For the role of support educator, we are looking for someone who has:

Education as a support educator 200 YH.
Work experience in LSS operations.
Good computer skills and documentation experience.
Good ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
Good physical ability, as care recipients have different needs for support and assistance in their daily lives.

If you have previously worked with children with special needs, this is an advantage. A driver's license is a requirement.
