About the Position

Do you want to be part of developing the next generation of products in Life Science? Cytiva is now looking for an experienced mechanical designer for an exciting assignment in the research and production of pharmaceuticals and vaccines. About the Assignment

You will belong to the Downstream R&D – Hardware department at Cytiva in Uppsala and participate in new development projects in close collaboration with colleagues from other technical areas.

Your tasks will primarily include:

  • New and further development of products in the CAD tool Creo
  • Creation of drawings and documentation
  • Release of details in the Windchill/Magic system
  • Collaboration in cross-functional development teams (optics, electronics, software, etc.)
  • Selection of the right manufacturing technology for series production

Here, you will work with modern technologies such as 3D printing, laser welding, and plastic bonding, with access to an advanced prototype workshop.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who is educated as a university or civil engineer in mechanical engineering or equivalent, with at least five years of experience in mechanical design. You have worked in development projects from idea to finished product and are confident in your technical skills.

We would like you to have experience in:

  • The CAD tool Creo
  • Injection molding, die casting, welded sheet metal, and 3D printing
  • Working methods that involve cross-functional teams
  • Working with documentation and release in systems such as Windchill (meritorious)

You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and are a person with great technical engagement, who is self-driven and curious.

Travel to Cytiva in Umeå may occur approximately 2–3 times a year.
