Academic Resource is now looking for a Mechanical Engineer to a Life Science company in Uppsala.

The position is a consultancy assignment for 1 year with good opportunities for extension and/or direct recruitment to the company.

Location: Uppsala.

The work is 8 hours/day, 5 days a week. On-site.

About the assignment:

The department is called: Downstream R&D - Hardware. There are over 100 people in the department, and the section that the hiring manager is responsible for is called Hardware Engineering, consisting of about 18 mechanical engineers working on various new development projects. There is a lot to do here, and therefore more Mechanical Engineers are needed.

Together, you will develop the next generation of products for research and large-scale manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and vaccines. In their development, they use modern development tools, Creo for 3D CAD, Ansys for FEA/CFD calculations/simulations. The company invests in modern technologies such as 3D printing, laser welding, and bonding. They have access to a prototype workshop with the latest 3D printers for plastic and metal, equipment for laser welding and bonding of plastic, as well as CNC machines for machining.

Job Description:

New design and drawing production in the CAD tool Creo and release of details in the Windchill/Magic system. You will belong to a team consisting of other mechanical engineers in new development projects.

As a mechanical engineer with us, you will have the opportunity to help develop the next generation of chromatography systems, including UV cells and motion mechanics. You will collaborate in cross-functional teams with other mechanical engineers and other engineers responsible for optics, electronics, application knowledge, and software. In your work, you will develop and evaluate new ideas and designs and ensure that we choose the right manufacturing technology for series production.

We are looking for someone with broad technical competence since our mechanical components are produced using injection molding or die casting, machining, welded sheet metal, and various 3D printing techniques for metal and plastic.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.

• Experience working with design from development phase to production, and have worked in CAD: Creo. (Windchill & Magic are meritorious, but not required)

• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

As a person, the candidate has a strong drive and technical interest with a desire to develop.
