Since 2019, Gyros Protein Technologies has been part of Mesa Lab's Biopharmaceutical Development Division. We are a leading provider of immunoassay and peptide synthesis solutions that drive innovation, development, and manufacturing of biopharmaceutical drugs.

Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for further developing our microfluidics platform and participating in the development of automated immunoassay systems from concept phase all the way to production and field support. You will also work on developing new, cost-effective solutions to complex I/O problems such as motion and temperature control.

A large part of the role involves being involved in the entire development process, from idea development and early proof-of-concept to development, verification, and launch of new products. The work is project-based and in close collaboration with other functions such as manufacturing, quality control, operations, and other R&D functions, which requires good communication and collaboration skills.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Participating in the specification and development of PCBs, microcontrollers, firmware, and analog/digital circuits.
• Creating and maintaining electrical documentation, such as specifications, electrical design, schematics, and layouts.
• Assisting in identifying alternative components and/or design solutions to support supply chain-related issues.
• Troubleshooting manufacturing or functional issues (both on-site and/or in the field) to determine root cause and suggest/implement preventive measures.
• Working closely with hardware and software engineers to ensure that individual designs meet overall project goals.
• Preparing technical reports and/or presentations and participating in design reviews.
• Developing project plans, requirements, verification, and validation documentation.
• Planning and executing verification and validation of instruments, software, PCBs, and modules.
• Establishing and developing processes, SOPs, and product documentation for manufacturing.
• Ensuring product quality and support for existing products.
• Acting as a link between hardware and instruments/software.

About You

We are looking for someone with a master's degree in electrical engineering, technical physics, mechatronics, or another relevant field, as well as at least 3 years of industrial experience in similar tasks. You also have documented experience in developing electrical PCB layouts, circuit design, and/or troubleshooting. We also see that you have a desire to work hands-on with tasks such as assembly and troubleshooting of prototypes.

In addition, we are looking for someone who has:

• Experience with microcontrollers, analog and digital circuit design.
• Experience with firmware programming (C, C++ for microcontrollers).
• EMC testing.
• Simulation in Spice.
• Experience with OrCad.
• Soldering, preferably PCB surface mount.
• Very good knowledge of both Swedish and English.
