Project Advisor for Regional Development

Do you want the opportunity to work with regional development and be part of a region's community development with many contact points both internally and externally? Apply for this position.

At Tillväxtverket, we work for competitive companies and sustainable development in all parts of Sweden. We offer knowledge, networks, and investment opportunities. This provides direct benefits to companies and also creates conditions for businesses, municipalities, and regions to meet future challenges. Tillväxtverket is a national authority with a regional presence in nine locations.

About the position

As a project advisor for projects within the European Regional Development Fund, you will participate in Tillväxtverket's efforts for regional development and growth. You will work with information, advice, and processing of project applications primarily within the Eastern Middle Sweden program.

Project applications within the programs are assessed based on program content, selection criteria, regulations, and directives. You will compile case summaries and prepare decision materials. After decisions, you will maintain close contact with external project owners throughout the project's lifecycle. Internally, you will primarily work with your project advisor colleagues and a program manager, as well as economists in the review unit in connection with calls, status, and final reporting.

The regional fund programs are an important source of funding for regional development work. Therefore, it is important that you, in your role as a project advisor, have good knowledge of the regions' needs. These are formulated in regional development strategies, smart specialization strategies, and in the programs managed by Tillväxtverket. With your knowledge, you should contribute to ensuring that regional actors can access Tillväxtverket's knowledge, networks, and funding opportunities in the most effective way. To build this knowledge, you as a project advisor may become engaged in regional environmental monitoring or participate in internal or external groups on various themes such as innovation, green transition, and smart specialization. Furthermore, tasks include mapping, follow-up, analysis, report writing, and dissemination of results on how funds within the regional development fund are invested in central Sweden.

Your main contact points are project advisor colleagues, program managers, and economists. In addition to these, the Secretariat for the Managing Authority, Services and Cooperation, Legal and Control, Communication, and Knowledge and Learning are other internal collaboration partners. Externally, you will mostly interact with regional development responsible regions and project owners who run the projects funded by Tillväxtverket, but also collaborate with both national and regional authorities and/or organizations that are actors in regional development work.

Your workplace will be in Örebro.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree from a university or college in social sciences/economics or another area that Tillväxtverket deems relevant for the position
  • Current experience in administration within public administration
  • Established networks and/or good knowledge of regional development organizations and growth-promoting actors
  • Experience working with materials containing economic and legal content
  • Good IT skills and proficiency in the Office suite
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written

The following are meritorious:

  • Experience working with issues within the regional innovation or business promotion system
  • Experience working with analysis, report writing, and dissemination of results

As a person, we are looking for someone who is structured, results-oriented, independent, communicative, service-oriented, and strategic.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities. We expect you to meet our employee and management policy that expresses the expectations we have for all employees.
